Victoria Foust

The russian pianist Victoria Foust is recognized by the critics as “a brilliant and prolific pianist of exceptional qualities and temperament, dazzling artistic individuality, and stage experience”. Her surprising internationational career is highlighted by a constant search for artistic excellence and a great commitment to communication through musci. Aclaimed for her “passionate and refined” manner of playing and “her magnificent Russian fingers”, she has captived the public on numerous stages in Europe and Latin America.

Victoria Foust, with her interpretive versatility, has been a soloist whith symphonic orchestras in the Urals, the Soloists of the Mariinsky Theater (Russia), the Bach Orchestra of Sao Paulo, Brazil, the National Symphony and the Saint Cecilia Sinfonietta of Peru, and in chamber music recitals. In recent years she has participed in festivals such as “The vaguard up to our time” in Saint Petersburg, Russia, “Bachwoche” in Ansbach, Germany, “Savolinne Opera Festival” in Helsinki, Finland, “The Frutillar Musical Weeks” in Frutillar, Chile, the Bela Bartok Festival in Lima, Peru, and likewise in the Cartuja de Valldemossa-Celda of Chopin in Mallorca, Spain and in the House-Museum of Rimsky Korsakov in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

a los siete añosVictoria Foust was born in 1975 and initiated her piano studies at five years of age at the music school of her native city in the Urals, from an early age winning young persons contests of interpretation and composition. Later she continnued her musical education at the Mussorgsky Conservatory School in Ekaterinsburgo, then entering the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory of Saint Petersburg, specializing in piano, organ, and harpsicord.

At the same time she undertook work as konzertmeister of the Rimsky Korsakov Opera and Ballet Theater in Saint Petersburg, and participated actively whit the Richard Wagner Group and the Richard Wagner singing competition. Right after graduating whit honors as a piano soloist, chamber music artist, konzertmeister, and master of piano, she was awarded the title of “Representative of the Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory” in Latin America.

Her extensive work as Representative began in Peru in 1997 by developing an intense artistic, didactic, and educational activity promoting the art of the grand tradition of the Russian piano school, and additionally collaborating as konertmeister of the Pro Lyrical Association of Peru, sharing the stage with singers from La Scala of Milan and the Metropolitan Opera House.

en Glazov Hall del ConservatorioThe importance that she gives to music by her communicative power has taken her to Santiago, Chile in 2005, where she now resides and there she continues her artistic and pedagogical mission throughout the country as a teacher of piano and chamber music at the Conservatory of Music, Universidad Mayor.

Her constant preocupation whit the re-creation of different musical styles has inspired her recently to record her first CD of “The Great Waltzes” in Germany.
